Samsung SGH-F480 Review Introducing the new SGH-F480
Touch screen mobile phones are becoming increasingly popular, thanks to the popularity of Apple's iPhone and the simplicity of using your finger. No more having to endure small buttons or cramped QWERTY keypads on mobile phones.
Samsung's SGH-F480 is a touch screen 3.5G capable mobile phone and they claim it has multimedia features to satisfy the savviest of users. The slim design sports a metaliic finish and looks quit similar, albiet smaller and more compact, to Samsung's own SGH-i900 Omnia. They do share some similarities one of which is the new touch UI with haptic feedback. The haptic feedback is a great feature since without it you have no way of knowing you have activated the touchscreen compared to a soft click or audible sound of a real keypad. So, haptic sends small vibrations through the phone when an icon is touched on screen.
The similarities between the devices ends when it comes to connectivity. The SGH-F480 does not have a Wi-Fi radio or a built-in GPS (Global Positioning Satellite) radio. The up-side to not having the extra radios is the more compact size and it is less expensive.
