Step 5

We are now going to setup encryption to protect your network and your information.
Under Security, click on Wireless then WEP. Leave everything as default except for the Key. Change the key to something that you desire before you save your settings.

Step 6

Click on Wireless Encryption and select the client type to “WEP Only”. Remember to save settings.

At this point of time, you should have lost connectivity to the router. To reconnect, refer to “Getting your PC connected back to the Wireless router.”

Step 7

Under Firewall‘s Intrusion detection, check the following options: SPI and Anti-DoS firewall protection, RIP defect, Discard Ping To WAN Interface. This helps to reduce downtime and also reduce chances to get hacked.
